Qualifications

Associate Professor or Full Professor, holding a doctoral degree.

As of January 1, 2026: applicants in the humanities and social sciences must be under the age of 40 (born after January 1, 1986); female applicants may exceed this by up to 2 years; appropriate extensions may be granted for overseas-based or foreign applicants and for candidates in areas of urgent university need.

Have led one or more national or provincial/ministerial-level research projects, with a series of high-level scholarly outputs (journal articles, monographs, translations, textbooks, etc.).

Academic record exceeding Nankai University's internal promotion requirements for the equivalent academic rank.

Law-abiding, with sound academic integrity, and demonstrating the academic potential and team-building capability expected of a young discipline leader.

Compensation & Support

Tenured faculty position, with eligibility to apply for doctoral supervisor status; competitive annual salary plus research performance pay; eligible to apply for national and Tianjin municipal talent subsidies.

Research start-up funding of RMB 200,000–500,000 for the humanities and social sciences; priority allocation of graduate and postdoctoral recruitment quotas.

Housing allowance of RMB 200,000–400,000, plus housing provident fund and supplementary housing provident fund; transitional housing available upon application.

Flexible performance review cycles; access to high-quality affiliated kindergartens and primary/secondary schools; staff medical care at affiliated hospitals with supplementary reimbursement through commercial insurance.
